I picked up this Tour Edge HL-J set for my 9-year-old, and it's been a fantastic starter set. The lime green color is a hit, and the clubs are appropriately sized for growing kids. The bag is basic, but for the price, it's hard to beat. The only downside is that as he grows, he'll likely outgrow it within a year or two.
